Faith Trail Ministry is a way to celebrate with families in your congregation the promises made in baptism, and it equips families with resources for sharing their faith stories.
Faith Trail markers are celebrated with an event for children and parents to attend together and are recognised in worship through prayer, blessing and gifting.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:26-29
Holy Communion is a special gift that Jesus gave to his church. It is a vital part of our congregational life. It gives us great comfort and strength. It unites us as one big church family. It celebrates all that Jesus has done for us. Parents play a major role in the faith life of their children. Children rely on parents to teach them the most important things in life. Faith Trail is a way to celebrate with families in your congregation the promises made in baptism.
This resource is designed for parents and children to attend together. The First Communion Faith Trail marker encourages children and parents to grow in their understanding and appreciation of the sacrament of Holy Communion. Each session is designed to run for approximately 90-120 minutes, depending on how much of the resource you choose to use and is completed over three intergenerational sessions.
These sessions are followed by a Sunday worship service where the participants and their families take part in their First Communion together with your congregation.

Don't just take our word for what a great resource it is!
The resource is looking great! Well done to you and the Grow team for producing a thorough and flexible outline and activities to help (especially new) pastors and elders teach, get to know the children of their flock on a personal level, and walk with them in their faith journey. God bless you and the Grow team and all you do! Pastor Paul Calnan, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Murray Bridge, South Australia
